Wheatbelt Health Network is monitoring all new COVID-19 information provided by the WA Department of Health, WHO and Australian Department of Health.
We have taken the additional step as a health organisation to protect the community:
- No appointments can be made online via Health Engine
- Clients with fever, runny/blocked nose, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath are asked not to enter our buildings
- Clients who have travelled overseas or interstate are asked not enter our buildings
- Prior to 27th March all at risk and vulnerable clients can be offered Telehealth consults with their GP in the following categories: (a) over 70 (b) over 50 and aboriginal or Torrens Strait Islander, (c) pregnant (d) has a child under 12 months (e) has a chronic disease (f) immune compromised or (g) self isolating due to exposure to a known COVID-19 case
- After 30th March – all clients can be offered a health practitioner Telehealth appointment (via Telephone or various Video Apps)
Face to face appointments will only be available on request and approval of the health practitioner
- Additional social distancing measures have been enabled via scheduling and consultation rooms
- No spirometry will be offered during this period
- After Hours Call A Doc 1800 225 523 can be used for all patients in the Wheatbelt when the clinic is not open and your notes will be added to your health record.

Wheatbelt Health Network is monitoring all new Caronavirus (COVID-19) information provided by the WA Department of Health, WHO and Australian Department of Health.
We have taken the following steps as a health organisation to protect the community:
- all patients are now screened prior to making an appointment and entering our buildings
- all at risk and vulnerable clients are now offered Telehealth consults with their GP in the following categories: (a) over 70 (b) over 50 and aboriginal or Torrens Strait Islander, (c) pregnant (d) has a child under 12 months (e) has a chronic disease (f) immune compromised or (g) self isolating due to exposure to a known COVID-19 case
- Staff may wear additional protections measures when treating with relevant symptoms such as a cough
- patients are able to wait in flexible waiting areas including outdoors prior to their appointment
- we are no longer accepting walk in unless they have been screened first
- all waiting chairs have been distanced from each other
- we have introduced a restricted zone around the reception area
- anyone who has recently travelled to NSW/VIC/QLD will only be able to access GPs via Telehealth
- the allied health team will no longer provide outreach appointments
